Summer Loves

I have had such a good time being home with my baby this summer. She seems so grown up now, and her little personality is coming out more than ever. The picture above is after church today. I snapped it before we went in to eat at El Chico.

On Saturday, we went and ate at Bass Pro Shop, and to look around at everything. I had shrimp, shrimp, and more shrimp, and once we were done eating, the girls picked out a hat! I picked up the Camo hat for Tanner, but Macey wore it around the entire night. I even caught Daddy D going through the racks! I had to take a picture. He is NO money spender, so this was a rare occurrence. The girls looked too cute in their hats. Macey kneeled down for me take a picture of her by herself. She looks so grown up!

I recently got Tanner some things. I'm trying to tie up loose ends such as diapers, formula, colic drops, thermometer, destitin, etc. I also found the softest leopard blanket at Babies R Us. I thought it would tune down the aqua :) The car blanket is really soft too. It says "boy!"
I found some onesies and a pair of baby legs with an airplane. Macey had a ton of baby legs. They make boy baby legs too! :) I took a picture of his changing table to show his Camo hat hanging on it. Sweet boy! :)

Also, you'll see what I have loved in my spare time while Macey is napping or down for the night. My cell phone, t.v. remote, computer, sweet tea with ice, cream cheese with apricot preserves and ritz, along with my comfy brown recliner. If I didn't gain weight in the beginning, I'm about to gain it now :)

Have a wonderful week! I get to check in on Tanner on Wednesday! I'm so ready to hold this little boy.

DWA!

Yesterday, we had a "Macey" day and took her to see all kinds of creatures at the Dallas World Aquarium! You'll see in the pictures that she now has a new "cheese" face when I take her pictures. Scrunched up nose and squinty eyes! ha!

We got dressed and went by Chick-fil-a to pick up some lunch, and then headed to Dallas. Once we got there, she stayed in Derrick's arms for most of the time. She was reluctant around the animals at first, but then began warming up. I'm at the point in this pregnancy that I get tired pretty easily, so I can't hold her much, or walk for a long time. It could be the lack of iron as well, but I'm currently on another iron tablet each day.

I ordered an Evenflo car seat off of Walmart.com for $43.00, and because I had it shipped "site to store," we picked it up yesterday afternoon. Once we got it home, Macey took it over and played in it all night! It's a bit "aqua," and I love it, but I'm going to have to add a brown giraffe and really boyish blankets to tone it down :) Sorry Tanner (you'll never know the difference.)

I hope everyone is having a great week. School is a month away!

Crazy for Turquoise

I am dreaming of turquoise! I've always loved this color, and since Tanner's room has shades of it, I can't get enough. I've always thought darker was better for me. Examples: My living room and kitchen are olive green, halls are warm gold, bathrooms are purple/red, and kids room is red. I'm now starting to lean towards white cabinets, etc. I've found a blog, houseofturquoise.com and I'm in love. Our bedroom has one light blue accent wall and I LOVE it!

Derrick and I have been been dreaming of some land by the lake, and I can't get shades of blue and seashells out of my mind! For more of a subtle change, I'm in love with keeping the walls neutral and painting the ceilings with an accent color.

I'm falling in love.....

Can you imagine an tween girls room like this? I'm seeing two shabby chic twin beds with the drama of turquoise, pink, black, and white. Heaven :)

Off to the pool now. Have a great day!

Summer Time!

It's been such a fun summer so far! I've loved being home with my baby girl and we've lived it up at the pool! That basically sums up our summer thus far! Swimming!!!

Since I've been home, I've been able to do some blog reading too and I've found SO many blogs that have inspired me to DIY! I've spent a lot less money just finding some things around the house to use! Most of these projects have made it into Macey and Tanner's room. One side is her play room, one side is his nursery. I ordered his bedding online from Etsy and used most of everything else from Macey. Just spray paint it and sand! His room is a bit floral and feminine, but I figure I can get away with it right now :) I added some touches of leopard, so that makes him manly, right? :) There's plenty of time for all of the camo, monkeys, trucks, etc. :)

DIY: I made two rag wreaths, and a burlap wreath for Tanner. For our bedroom, I used one of my dishes I bought for Macey's b-day to display some pretty bling :) I've been so inspired by all of the shabby chic blogs I've come upon. I wish I could build a house, and start over with new colors of paint, etc. Nesting is getting dangerous!! :)

I'm currently working on Drop Cloth Canvas Curtains for his room (idea from Vanilla Tulip) to close off his room during the day or night. These are 6x9 feet for 9.99 a piece. Perfect size for what we're looking to enclose. I will probably add some white rosette strands to dress them up. Pics coming soon!

Lastly, I've used Picnik and Picasa to edit some pics. Spent most of my day doing so!

Have a great weekend!

P.S. I'm 7 months pregnant and he's 2 lbs. so far! He kicks so hard! I only have some minor pregnancy complaints (heartburn, and anemia.) I'm on some extra iron, and I'm already feeling better.
Little boy's estimated weight for September: 7 1/2 lbs. I've got some blankets for him and some sweet little onesies for his sweet body. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!
